I just wanted to send a quick note to say thank you for a great experience through the process of adopting our first family pet. Firstly, it is evident how much you love and cherish the Portuguese Water Dog breed and what an amazing environment you have created at your Kennel. The application process demonstrated how important that the puppies are placed in a loving home and that once we had our puppy, we wouldn’t be alone. I really felt like I could ask you anything about the puppy at any time and that you would respond right away. The owner’s manual that you have created in addition to your informative videos have all been very helpful.
I would not hesitate to recommend Claircreek PWDs to anyone looking to adopt one of these amazing dogs.

I was in search of a PWD for a while and Claircreek came really well recommended. After a quick discussion online with Donna to tell her what we were looking for, we had scheduled to meet to determine if a PWD was right for my wife and I and if we were right for a PWD.
We had let Donna know that we did not have any prior experience with PWDs in the past so we were really trying to determine if a PWD was right for us. Donna gave us a lot of insights into PWDs and what living with one is like. We were then introduced to Wellington and I am pretty sure my wife and I were set on a PWD after meeting him. He is absolutely adorable and is alone worth the trip out to Claircreek for the chance to see him.
We were also really lucky to be able to meet 3 puppies that Donna had at the time. Prior to seeing these puppies, I was a not quite as interested in the lion clip, but seeing these 3 puppies with the lion clip made me a fan and I can't imagine my PWD getting any other cut now. We were given a good amount of time to interact with the puppies and I'm pretty sure if Donna was looking to part with one of them that day, we would have accepted (I still really like Valentina and think she was such a perfect pup).
Needless to say, my wife and I were happy to get on the wait-list after a quick discussion with each other and we were quite excited to know that Donna was expecting puppies in about a month and that we would likely only have to wait 3 more months until we could bring a puppy home.
The 3 months wait was excruciating. Once we had committed to a PWD from Claircreek, it was all my wife and I could talk about. We were really thankful for the updates that Donna shared all along the way. The pictures and videos of the pups and Lucia (their mother) was greatly appreciated and was always the highlight of our day when we got them.
A few weeks before the puppies were ready to be taken home, Donna scheduled a date for everyone who was looking to get a puppy in this litter to come and spend time with each puppy. This was a great experience where we got to meet the whole litter and for Donna to give everyone a few more tips and allowed for a lengthy and in-depth Q&A session.
All throughout this process, Donna was sending everyone a lot of material to help us get prepared for the puppy. She was very helpful and responsive to any questions that came up during this period and also scheduled one-on-one time with us when we came to pickup our puppy to go over a few key things to help us get through those first few days/weeks/months.
Donna really does work hard to ensure that everyone that comes to bring one of her puppies home is setup for success. I was really glad to see the amount of effort and care Donna put in, as she truly cares for her dogs and for every single one of her puppies. She really is a pack leader and I'm sure that the dogs of claircreek heavily benefit from this.
Once we brought our puppy home, Donna was still very much involved. She continued to stay in contact and give us plenty of advice regarding specific questions we had in the first few days with our puppy. It was reassuring to know that Donna was a simple phone call or email away to help.
She really knows the breed and everything she told us about what to expect during the initial stages of our puppy is quite spot on. We've had our PWD for 3 months now and everything Donna told us about how PWDs behave and what they will do is exactly our experience so far.
We are very happy with our experience with Donna and can highly recommend Claircreek if a PWD is a consideration at all. I will definitely go back to Donna again once we are ready for another.

Bailey (Faro/Elora - Female Green Pup) is doing so well and getting well-socialized with the other pups in our lives. We love her immensely and couldn't be happier! We had our first puppy class last night and we were the top of the class so far! Hopefully that will continue....
Donna is truly 'Best in Show' when it comes to breeders! Donna is a top expert in breeding and raising the finest quality Portuguese Water Dogs and Puppies. She is knowledgeable, kind, and very willing to help with any questions or concerns along the way. Her YouTube channel and self-authored PWD Guide are invaluable resources to make you feel comfortable with this breed if it is your first PWD pup (which it was for us). We took part in a two-week, daily, virtual puppy training class where Donna shared her expertise and guided us along the training process. We are absolutely thrilled with our puppy, Bailey. She was very well-mannered and socialized when we brought her home and now we are working on refining her skills. Thank you Donna for helping us bring this beautiful pup into our lives!
